Jigsaw students enjoy audition success!
- Published Date: April 27, 2018
It’s already been an exciting year for the students of our agency, Jigsaw Arts Management. Since our last blog article in February many of them have been making their mark on the industry.
First out of the blocks this month is Samara, who has been filming for a child adoption/fostering commercial! We look forward to seeing it on cinema screens and social media soon. Well done Samara!
After an impressive audition for the young Micheal Jackson in the West End Show Motown, Caleb has been offered Motown Camp. This is a continued audition process where Caleb is trained up for the role and assessed on his suitability throughout. Good luck Caleb!
Sophia will be playing the role of Emily in the brand-new musical of the timeless classic, A Little Princess, based on the famous book and film. The UK premiere of the musical will feature the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Tony-nominated composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa and directed by Multi Olivier Award-winner and Tony Award nominee Arlene Philips OBE. The production stars actress Amanda Abbington (Sherlock, Mr Selfridge), Strictly favourite Danny Mac (Sunset Boulevard, Hollyoaks). What an opportunity!
With so much good news, we caught up with Jigsaw Agent, Katie, and asked what advice she had for students when preparing for that all-important audition….
“Ooo yes, I would say to really think about what it is the casting director wants. Is the character outgoing, shy, cheeky, sensible etc. Then really put yourselves in their shoes. Wear whatever you think that character would wear so that you feel the part, learn the lines if they send you a script then confidently walk in and be ready to take all kinds of direction! When the casting director is talking to you – just be yourself!”
Well, we are definitely good at being ourselves here at Jigsaw!
