A Fun Day of Performing Arts at Westlands Primary School

On the 18th of May, our Manager Abbie and Performing Arts teacher Lisa were invited to attend Westlands Primary school in Chelmsford for their creative week.

Abbie and Lisa delivered a full day’s performing arts workshop to over 300 children. They had such a wonderful time meeting all of the enthusiastic students who were so eager to show off their amazing performing skills!

Abbie and Lisa ran 45 minute sessions for the Key Stage 1 students at the school and were blown away by how respectful, engaged and energetic they were. The sessions were delivered with the same structure of our 3-4 and 5-6 year old classes at our weekend schools and included Dance, Singing and Drama.

The session started with a group vocal and physical warm up, then group drama activities, and finished with a group dance, which the children performed to an audience and it was filmed by their class teacher.

“Our favourite part was teaching the dance ‘Move your feet’ from the film Trolls. It was amazing to see everyone so focused while learning the material and then performing it with so much energy at the end. We had such a wonderful day!”

We hope to be involved with many more community projects to share the joy of Performing Arts.
