Jigsaw Watford students perform ‘Back in Time’

On Saturday 23rd November 2024, the fabulous students at Jigsaw Watford, aged 7 -18, took to the stage to perform their end of term show! They danced, acted and sung their hearts out for ‘Back in Time.’
Jigsaw’s ‘Back in Time’ is an upbeat, all dancing, singing and drama show filled with popular music hits from the 80s and 50s. The characters travel back in time and to the future all whilst delving into musical and dance numbers in-between scenes.
Our students did such an amazing job and managed to pull off a full-scale show, with lights, costumes, and even a special effect smoke machine in just 9 weeks! They worked incredibly hard throughout the term to learn lines, dances and song lyrics all with the support of their brilliant performing arts teachers who gave nothing but positivity, encouragement and fun sessions to all of the students, helping them to build confidence ready to perform in front of an audience at Jigsaw Watford.
How did our students prepare for the performance?
Our 7–18-year-olds attend weekly performing arts classes every Saturday morning in Watford where they learn skills and knowledge in drama, singing and dance classes! In these sessions they learnt all their show material, which they rehearsed and recapped every week until the show. They also put in lots of hard work by themselves at home, learning lines off by hearts and putting in lots of dedication and commitment to make the show brilliant!
Their finale number ‘It’s Only a Matter of Time’ enabled all of our students in groups 1-3 to stand together on stage at the same time to finish the show with a bang! It sounded absolutely epic, and the energy created such a buzz after! We had so many happy students and parents who said, “the shows just keep getting better!” Huge well done Jigsaw Watford.
How did the Jigsaw team feel about the performance?
As teachers, it is the most rewarding feeling, getting to see our students having fun on stage, beaming with confidence and seeing smiley faces all round! Not just smiles from our students, but also seeing the joy that the kids bring to so many people in the audience: parents, family and friends! We couldn’t be prouder of all of their hard work and success. Performing in front of a big audience is a huge deal and they were absolute pros! Huge well done Jigsaw Watford! You should be incredibly proud of yourselves. You are LEGENDS!
