Kinky Boots is strutting its way to Chelmsford this week!

Kinky Boots at the Chelmsford Civic Theatre

Kinky Boots takes Chelmsford Civic Theatre by storm and two of our very own Jigsaw Students are starring in the production.

From Wednesday the 15th of June until Saturday the 18th of June, Springer’s Theatre Company will be performing the well-known production of ‘Kinky Boots’ at Chelmsford Civic theatre.

‘Kinky Boots’ is a musical based on the 2005 British film. Written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth, it is mostly inspired by the true story of of Charlie Price. The uplifting musical is said to have audiences on their feet dancing in the aisles of the Theatre, enjoying the experience.

Two Jigsaw Students from Jigsaw Chelmsford, Matthew Mullender and Zac Ashley Spong, are part of the cast after successfully securing parts. Matthew has attended Jigsaw Chelmsford since it opened four years ago and Zac is on his second term at Jigsaw. Both boys have been working extremely hard at rehearsals and have mastered the art of walking and, mostly importantly, dancing in heels!

Abbie, the Manager of Jigsaw Chelmsford, and main school teacher Tarnya will be watching this Friday’s show.

“It is a wonderful opportunity that the boys have been afforded by Jigsaw Chelmsford parent Gary Jarvis who is directing the show. We are both looking forward to supporting the show and the boys, celebrating their success and dedication to this experience”.

As well as our weekend schools and holiday workshops, Jigsaw Arts run an agency to give our students the chance to audition for professional work, using the strong links between Jigsaw and the performing arts industry. There are lots of exciting opportunities that come with being a part of our agency, that explore beyond Theatre performances, such as modelling and starring in Film and Television Productions.
