Performing Arts Summer Camp – Wandsworth, South West London August!
- Published Date: June 17, 2024
Performing Arts Summer camp in Wandsworth, South West London, join in with the fun this August! Jigsaw Wandsworth opened their doors for the first time in January and are very excited to bring their very first Summer camp to the Wandsworth community.
How is a Summer camp different from weekend Jigsaw classes?
Jigsaw Wandsworth Performing Arts Summer camp offers a week of singing, dance and drama for children aged 3-16 years, with students performing a show on the Friday! It differs from our weekend classes as children are able to incorporate arts and crafts into the week, helping to make props and
costumes for our end of week performance. There will be a balance between practical and fun
activities and games that will ensure your child has a memorable holiday with an opportunity to
make new friends!
What does the day look like for students aged 3-5?
3-5 year olds at the Performing Arts Summer Camp attend sessions from 9:30-11:30am. The two-hour sessions are full of fun packed, exciting performing arts activities and games. They offer a taster of the full day programme, perfect for building confidence, making new friends and keeping your child busy
during the school holidays. Children will be working on a song, dance and drama piece to
perform on the final day to their grown ups!
What does the day look like for students aged 5 – 16 years?
5-16 year old students will be divided into smaller age appropriate groups. Each day will begin with ice
breaker games and a physical and vocal warm up followed by exciting dance, drama and
singing workshops and fun activities. Our focus will be improving the children’s performance
skills whilst building their confidence and self esteem. Similarly to our youngest group, the
students will work on a song, dance and drama to perform on the final day of the Performing Arts Summer camp.
What do children need to bring?
- A packed lunch that doesn’t need refrigeration. Lunches will be stored in a cool dry place
- but refrigerators are not available. We recommend you use an ice pack.
- Plenty of water to keep hydrated.
- Students should wear clothes and shoes appropriate for movement.
How do you get to the Jigsaw Wandsworth Summer camp?
Jigsaw Wandsworth is well connected and easily accessible via public transport. We’re a 15
minute walk from Wandsworth Town and East Putney stations. Local buses are regular and less
than half an hour from Earlsfield, Southfields, Roehampton and Wimbledon.
Do you offer wraparound care?
We know childcare can be tricky over the school holidays, so wraparound care is an option – but
subject to availability. Please discuss with Wandsworth’s school manager when booking.
