spotlight on Danny Bage

Danny is currently a Jigsaw manager of two schools; Harrow and Ware. He has been working for Jigsaw as a teacher and manager for 9 years now. We thought we would catch up with him to find out a little more about his background, his experience with Jigsaw so far and we threw in some fun questions about his own favourite shows and performers!

Where are you from?

Danny: I grew up in Devon but now live in Harlow, Essex

When did you start working at Jigsaw?

2005.

Which Jigsaw schools do you and have you worked in?

Harrow, Ware, Broxbourne, Acton, Ilford, Winchmore Hill, Bexleyheath.

What subject do you teach?

Singing, Drama, Performing Arts, Manager.

Where did you train?

 Mountview Theatre School.

What did you do before Jigsaw? Have you had any jobs that you loved/hated?

Before Jigsaw I was a student but I have been working as an actor during my time at Jigsaw. My favourite job was performing in “Boogie Nights”. My worst job was working in the DFS warehouse!

What’s your greatest career achievement?

Performing on tour at the Hammersmith Apollo.

What do you enjoy the most at Jigsaw?

Directing shows.

What has been your favourite moment at Jigsaw?

Working on “Matilda” at Summer School, it was a fantastic show!

What’s your favourite show?

Into the Woods.

What would be the most rewarding role or show for you to do?

The Trunchbull in Matilda because I love a good villain!

Who is your favourite actor/actress? Why?

Mark Heap from “Green Wing” and “Spaced” because he is sooooo funny!

Do you have a favourite song?

“A New World” by Bjork… it’s such a haunting, sad song.

If you had a film of your life who would play you?

I’d like to say Leonardo Di Caprio but realistically I’d have to say “Goody” from The Thin Blue Line.

Anything else you think we should know about you?

I used to make my brother dress up as little Cosette from “Les Miserables” and act out the whole show with me… he holds a grudge to this day…
