War Horse and William
Students from Jigsaw’s agency, Jigsaw Arts Management, had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of attending puppetry and Shakespeare workshops at London’s National Theatre.
On the first day of workshops, the students had an exclusive behind the scenes look and a guided tour of the production workshops where NT props and set are created, and then got involved in a puppetry workshop led by Danny Dalton who has appeared in War Horse in the West End. The Friday group had a full 90 minute workshop on William Shakespeare and worked on a speech from one of Shakespeare’s best loved comedies, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The feedback from the National Theatre’s education department was outstanding, and the Jigsaw students did themselves proud; they thoroughly enjoyed these workshops at the National, and we were delighted to see them make the most of the opportunity.
