The Technique Term at Jigsaw introduces students to exciting new skills as they explore a variety of dance, drama, and singing styles each week. It’s a time for experimentation, growth, and discovery, where students are encouraged to try out new things. This term is not only about honing technique; it’s also about strengthening teamwork and friendships.
Progress Reports
At the end of the Technique Term, parents receive a written report detailing their child’s individual progress. These reports highlight personal milestones, skill development, and areas where students have grown during the term. More than just an update, Jigsaw reports are a celebration of achievement and a helpful reflection tool. We pride ourselves on giving uplifting, constructive feedback that motivates students and supports their ongoing Jigsaw journey.
Once a year, all Jigsaw students aged 3–18 take centre stage for our much loved Show Term… a highlight of the Jigsaw calendar! Throughout the term, students work together to create and rehearse a full performance, which they proudly present to an audience of family and friends.
Blending drama, singing, and dance, our shows feature bespoke scripts, exciting choreography, and creative interpretations of classic songs. Every production is written in-house by our teachers, ensuring every child has a meaningful role. At Jigsaw, there are no single lead characters, because we believe everyone should get their moment to shine.
With the magic of costumes, props, and stage lighting, our performances are vibrant and memorable!
A year at Jigsaw Arts is bursting with creativity and is divided into three exciting terms, following the school terms: Technique Term, Presentation Term, and Show Term. Each designed to build skills, confidence, and stage presence in a fun, supportive environment!
The Presentation Term at Jigsaw gives family and friends a chance to step inside the classroom with an open class demonstration at the end of term. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see what our students have been working on and get a real feel for the energy that defines a Jigsaw class!
Throughout the term, students take part in a variety of singing, dance, and drama warm-ups, games, and group pieces, all of which are showcased during the final presentation.
This term is especially popular with students, as they often get to work on material they’ve requested themselves, making it a popular one amongst our students!
