JIGSAW PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOLS TERMS AND CONDITIONS*
*Please note that Jigsaw Arts Franchise Ltd is a franchise owner operated business, and these terms and conditions are valid for each individual franchise owned school.
Jigsaw Arts cannot accept children without a booking made via our online booking system. By signing up to a class, you are agreeing to all our Terms and Conditions.
Jigsaw Performing Arts School Two Week Trial Period
A two-week trial period is available at our weekend performing arts school for new customers only and is paid for in advance via the booking system on our website. It entitles a student to attend a Jigsaw Performing Arts School for two consecutive weeks, is non-refundable and cannot in any circumstances, be extended. All students wishing to continue the course will receive an email inviting them to continue for the remainder of the term, this email will contain a link to their family account where payment can be made Should the offer to continue not be taken up then we will automatically assume that a place is no longer required and will be at liberty to offer this place to another student.
If a new student selects to book in for a full term without signing up for the two-week trial, the trial period does not apply, and the customer has committed to the full term.
Payments
Jigsaw are unable to admit children or reserve a place without payment. Payments can be made via debit or credit card via the booking system on our website. Please note we are unable to accept cash at any of our venues. All payments should be received in full in advance, alternatively, you can sign up to a monthly payment plan. More details below.
Students attending any sessions outside of the Trial Period will be liable for the full term’s fees. An up-to-date record of your schedule of payments is held on your online account.
Instalment Payments
Instalment payments are divided over four equal instalments over the term. These payments are administered by Stripe; should a payment for any reason fail, then Stripe will attempt a number of times to collect the payment over a two-week period and will notify the customer each time. Should the payment fail to be collected after these attempts then the customer will be asked to add an alternative payment method. Instalment payments are not available at all Jigsaw Arts venues, so please consult your school manager if this option does not appear at checkout.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel your child’s place, you must inform your on-site school manager by the last day of the current term at the latest, and we will ensure no payments are taken after your current term’s balance is clear. If you are an instalment customer, please note you are automatically booked for the following term, and it is your responsibility to cancel your booking by the end of the current term.
Refunds
Jigsaw Arts operates a no refund policy. In extreme situations, a refund or a credit note may be considered at the discretion of Jigsaw Arts.
Registration and Collection of Children
Jigsaw Arts are responsible for children for the duration of the session booked. Jigsaw Arts cannot accept responsibility for children outside the designated hours of care.
Unfortunately, we are unable to admit children before the session start time. Parents/Guardians must register their children at the beginning of the session and collect their children from the designated pick-up point at the end of the day. Please be patient as your child’s safety is of paramount importance to us. Parents wishing older children to walk home unaccompanied must inform the school manager.
We operate in accordance with our health and safety, child protection, safeguarding and privacy policies, copies of which can be found on our website.
Drop off sessions
All sessions are drop off sessions, unless taking part in Jigsaw Jumpers where parents/guardians are encouraged to participate. No parents/guardians or spectators are allowed into classes at any times other than to watch presentations and shows at the end of term. Parents/Guardian are welcome to wait on the premises for the duration of their child’s class if possible but are also welcome to leave children in our supervision. Classes start on time so please arrive a few minutes early to avoid disruption to classes. Any continuous lateness may result in the loss of your child’s place.
Late collection
In the event of late collection, a penalty charge may be incurred and could result in the loss of your child’s place.
If the child is not collected within a reasonable amount of time and parents cannot be contacted, Jigsaw Arts will take the child to the nearest police station or contact social services. In the event of any emergency, please call your school manager (details on the individual school page on our website).
Attendance
Wherever possible, parents/guardians should notify Jigsaw if the student will not be attending on any given day booked. Parents should notify the school manager if students need to leave for appointments during the session.
In the Event of Illness or Accident
Children who arrive at Jigsaw with a temporary sickness (e.g. flu, diarrhoea, vomiting etc.) will not be permitted to register as we have a responsibility to all children’s health and welfare. Should a child become ill or is involved in an accident, parents will be contacted using the telephone numbers listed on the family account and the nature of the illness/accident explained. The child must be collected so the parent can seek professional medical advice. If immediate hospital treatment is required an ambulance will be called (e.g. broken limb, head/back injury) and parents will be notified. In the event that the child should need emergency treatment and the parents cannot be contacted, Jigsaw Arts will act in loco parentis and authorise treatment. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to keep Jigsaw updated with changes of address and telephone numbers and to be contactable during the sessions.
Behaviour management
Jigsaw Arts recognises the importance of positive and effective behaviour management strategies in promoting children’s welfare, learning and enjoyment. In the event of misbehaviour that is incompatible with the enjoyment or safety of other children, students will be asked to leave, and parents will be contacted.
Break and/or Lunch time
Our weekend sessions, have short break time and our summer schools have a lunch and break time. No food, drink or gum may be consumed during classes and should be saved until designated break times. Any snacks brought into classes must be NUT FREE. Please note that some venues have differing policies regarding snack time, so please check with the school manager and check your welcome email.
Children attending the Jigsaw full day holiday workshop should bring packed lunches. Parents should label their child’s packed lunch. Parents are advised not to include food which requires refrigeration. Packed lunches are stored at room temperature and kept away from direct sunlight, heaters and radiators. We recommend parents include picnic type pre-frozen ice packs/cool bags. Children are supervised whilst eating.
Staff Changes
Jigsaw reserves the right to make changes to the timetable, the teaching staff, the advertised programme in the event of illness or other circumstances beyond our control. This will only be done if absolutely necessary and Jigsaw will do its best to keep programme delivery as similar as possible, but unfortunately this cannot always be guaranteed.
Cancellation of Sessions
Jigsaw will not accept liability for any teaching sessions which have to be cancelled for reasons beyond their control (such as fire, flood, extreme weather or criminal activity). In these circumstances Jigsaw will be under no obligation to provide compensation and any arrangements made as a goodwill gesture will be at Jigsaw’s discretion.
Clothing
Students should wear suitable clothing and footwear at all times. Jigsaw uniform or black clothing is preferred at our weekend performing arts schools. This is available to purchase via the online shop on our website. Children can wear their own comfortable clothing during the holiday workshops.
Toilet training
Jigsaw are unable to accept younger children who are not toilet trained into the weekend schools and holiday camps. Jigsaw Jumpers classes for our pre-schoolers are an exception to this rule as parents are present with their child.
Personal Belongings
Jigsaw advises students not to bring personal belongings to the school as we are unable to accept liability for damage or loss of property. We recommend all Jigsaw clothing is labelled.
Fee increases
Jigsaw Arts fees are reviewed annually and may be increased each year. You will be notified in advance of the change.
In the event of an emergency, please use the Jigsaw Arts emergency telephone number to pass on information: contact details on the individual school page on our website.
