Manager Abbie Reflects On Jigsaw Chelmsford’s Wonderful Summer Workshop

As the summer begins to draw to a close and we get ready for what September brings, Jigsaw Chelmsford’s Manager Abbie is taking this moment to reflect and look back on what was a wonderful summer of performing arts. 

During the holidays, the Jigsaw Chelmsford summer school students brought their carnival theme to life in just one week! Together, the students created, rehearsed, and performed the show ‘The Light Carnival’.

The show, created by the students and teachers Abbie and Tarnya, was about the residents of ‘Honeycomb Village’ who hold an annual light carnival each year. And this year, the light had been stolen by a very unsuspecting resident…

The students took their audience through an exciting journey to find the light and restore their beloved carnival. Featuring song favourites such as; “Shine A Light” by Mcfly and “Sky Full Of Stars” by Coldplay (Sing 2 version). 

Manager Abbie and Performing Arts teacher Tarnya had the best time creating such a wonderful show with talented students!

“Our favourite part of the week was definitely getting to watch the show come to life at the end of the week with the fantastic costumes and lights. We want to give a special thank you to the team at the Hamptons Leisure Centre for doing the lighting and sound for us. And of course, a big well done to all of the students for their hard work- you smashed it on stage!”.

We cannot wait for our show term this September at our weekend school. Our students at Jigsaw Chelmsford will be back on stage very soon!
