Lauren has created A Place To Belong for the students at Jigsaw Croydon!
Jigsaw Performing Arts School Croydon first opened its doors in 2003! Welcoming students from ages 3 – 18 to come and find their ‘Place To Belong’. The initial goal behind opening the school was to pass on the joy of the performing arts, as every student can benefit in some way from singing, drama and dance classes!
While some students join Jigsaw to build skills for a career in the industry, others do so to gain confidence and meet new friends. Our creative environment is the perfect place to explore the arts while having lots of fun!
Our wonderful Franchisee Lauren took over as manager of Jigsaw Croydon in 2020, after spending an amazing 10 years there as a teacher.
Lauren’s vision when taking over the school as the manager was to create a fun and friendly environment for the children who choose to attend the classes at Jigsaw Croydon.
At Jigsaw Croydon, the aim is to help each individual child achieve their goals, whether it be to improve their dance, singing or drama techniques, have fun on a Saturday or build up confidence. Our teachers really care about the students and I hope that every family who attends, feels part of our community.
We asked Lauren why creating A Place To Belong is so important to her!
“As a child I loved to dance but I was very shy. When I started working for Jigsaw Performing Arts in 2012, I found that Jigsaw created the perfect opportunity for children who needed a confidence boost, or wanted to make new friends whilst performing and having fun. This really spoke to me and is something I wish had been available to me as a child. As a result, when I got the chance to run my own Jigsaw I felt that this was my moment to inspire and help those children who need their place to belong.” – Lauren, franchisee and manager of Jigsaw Croydon
Creating a place to belong for our students is the driving point behind why we run these weekend performing arts classes at Jigsaw Croydon every Saturday. We look forward to welcoming our new students each term, and can’t wait to nurture more students through their Jigsaw Journeys!
