Jigsaw Youth Theatre (JYT) is for 15–18 year olds ready to take their training to the next level in a fun and dynamic space. Still part of our weekend schools, JYT builds on students’ existing skills while exploring deeper, more nuanced performance work.
Following Jigsaw’s core structure Technique, Show, and Presentation terms, JYT tailors content to suit older students. With thought-provoking texts, creative collaborations, and regular performance opportunities, students gain stage experience and grow as confident, expressive artists within our supportive community.
At JYT, we believe in empowering young performers to think critically, take creative risks, and find their voice. Whether aspiring to a career in the arts or simply seeking a space to express themselves, students are supported every step of the way by experienced teachers who challenge and inspire. It’s not just about perfecting a performance, it’s about discovering who you are as a performer and as a person. JYT is currently running in the venues below;
Each three-hour weekly session is led by a dedicated Youth Theatre Director and incorporates a mix of drama, dance, and singing. Students work as an ensemble, building advanced skills in character development, movement, and storytelling. Sessions are structured yet exploratory, with opportunities to devise original work, engage with contemporary scripts, and contribute creatively to the rehearsal process.
JYT strikes the balance between professional-style training and the fun, supportive environment Jigsaw is known for. It’s a space where young performers can be themselves, push their potential, and take real ownership of their craft.
