A spotlight on Summer School Student Sean!

Sean Jigsaw Performing Arts summer school spotlight blog post

Sean is currently attending our Winchmore Hill Summer School at The Highlands School where he’s working towards a performance of “The Lion King” on Friday afternoon. He also attends our weekend school at Winchmore Hill and has done for the past 8 years. We decided to interview Sean with some quick fire questions to find out a little about his week so far and to see what he loves most about Summer School!

Age

13 years old

Why did you decide to join Jigsaw?

I joined Jigsaw because I absolutely love singing but I didn’t have any confidence originally so my family thought it would help boost my self esteem.

Is this your first Summer School?

No! I have done 4 Jigsaw Summer Schools!

Which has been your favourite show?

My favourite show to date has definitively been Matilda!

What is the highlight of the week so far?

The best part of the week so far has been learning all the songs and meeting all the different people which has been so much fun!

What are you most looking forward to?

I am really looking forward to putting on the entire show on Friday for our parents!

Any funny stories to tell?

When I was the Trunchbull in Matilda and I had to wear and dance in my Mum’s boots, which everyone found hilarious!

What’s the most exciting part about doing the show on Friday?

Probably seeing everything coming together – working with everyone and having that sense of team work! I think the show is going to be really good!

How is Summer School different to weekend School?

Summer School is every day so the more we practice we remember more because it’s so intense. No break from each session like the weekend school!

What are your ambitions for the future?

I want to be a rock singer and an actor!

If you had a film of your life who would play you?

That would have to be Owen Wilson!

Anything else we should know?

I can play guitar!
