Half term holiday workshops in Finchley

Spring Term Booking Now Open

Booking is now open for the 2018 spring term. With some availability across Jigsaw schools, now is the time to renew or secure a two-week trial ahead of the Christmas rush. Our January term is always extremely popular, with plenty of children taking to the stage with Jigsaw.

New Saturday Performing Arts School in Finchley

Finchley has long been a popular Jigsaw School, with many of its Sunday performing arts classes operating with a waiting list term on term. Therefore, in addition to several schools opening in new locations including Potters Bar, Surbiton and Bushey, we are extremely excited to announce that there will be a new Saturday school in Finchley starting later this year.

Youth Theatre Production of Bassett Wows Audiences in London

First premièring at the Soho Theatre as part of the National Theatre’s Connections scheme in 2011, Bassett is a modern, gritty play set in the classroom of a school in the market town of Wootten Bassett. Exploring mature themes, the choice of play meant that students were able to tackle some difficult text, and director Andy Hutchings was absolutely delighted with the focus, commitment and maturity shown by the cast.

Review: Orion And The Dark, Jacksons Lane

Last week, Jigsaw Arts student Harry Pendakis received tickets to see Peaceful Lion’s brand new family production of Orion And The Dark at Jacksons Lane, London. The show (which is based on Emma Yarlett’s illustrated children’s book of the same name) is currently on a UK tour. Four year old Harry (who is also due to join the Jigsaw Agency) was given the chance to write a review for publication on our blog.

Chloe Brandon is 17 years old and lives in North London. She started Jigsaw at the age of 5 back in 2003 and since then has worked her way up to the Jigsaw Youth Theatre which she currently attends and she also assists at Jigaw Enfield on Saturdays and Jigsaw Finchley on Sundays. As we are celebrating 20 years of Jigsaw, we're catching up with long serving Jigsaw students to see how their journeys began and to find out what they feel they have achieved from their Performing Arts training. Spotlight on Jigsaw teacher Alex

Alex began her Jigsaw journey exactly a year ago in April 2014 and comes all the way from The Comox Valley, which is on Vancouver Island in British Columbia Canada. She has worked in our Enfield, Sevenoaks, Ilford and Bexleyheath Jigsaw schools and will be soon starting as the singing teacher in Finchley for Summer 2015. Alex is also very excited to be performing in "Carousel" the musical at "The Stag Theatre" with "Petts Wood Operatic Society" later this month.

A Weekend Full of Fun in Finchley

A spotlight on Jigsaw teacher Nicola!

Nicola has been teaching for Jigsaw for over a year now and began assisting at our Enfield school. She then went on to teach at Broxbourne and now teaches Performing Arts at Jigsaw Finchley on Sundays. Nicola is originally from Alderley Edge in Cheshire and is currently in her final year at Mountview where she is studying Musical Theatre.
